Meditate on Jesus

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper – Psalm 1:2-3

Biblical meditation is the process of focusing on God’s word. The best definition of meditation comes from its definition in Hebrew, God’s holy language given to His people, the Israelites. “In the Old Testament, there are two Hebrew words for meditation: hāgâ (Hebrew: הגה‎), which means to sigh or murmur, but also to meditate, and sîḥâ (Hebrew: שיחה‎), which means to muse, or rehearse in one’s mind” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_meditation).

In Hebrew, “meditation” means to speak, declare, muse, ponder or mutter. (https://biblehub.com/hebrew/1897.htm) True meditation is speaking and declaring God’s word repeatedly. It is muttering the word of God. Meditation also means to think about God’s word and go over it in your mind – to ponder it. When Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ heard the angel’s sayings, she pondered those things in her heart.

Here is an example of meditating of God’s word:

Psalm 23:1 says “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want”.

Say or mutter these words under your breath, “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. The LORD Jesus is my shepherd. LORD Jesus, you are my shepherd and I shall not want. LORD, you will take care of all my needs. LORD Jesus, You care for me and You provide all that I need. I shall not be in want. The LORD IS my shepherd, I shall not want. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want

As we meditate on or rehearse in our minds the word of God, His power builds up inside of us and we become endued with dunamis (dynamite) power from above.
