For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ — 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
Today, we live in a world where our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). The battlefields where he spend most of his time is in our minds. He shouts negative thoughts into our minds in an attempt to turn us away from the truth, our Lord, Jesus Christ. Most times we believe these thoughts and accept them as ours. We look for ways/weapons to deal with them, especially when they are becoming or have become strongholds in our minds.
This is our warfare!
The weapons that we use will determine whether we overcome this warfare or not. The best weapon is not an “it”, but a “Who”. The Bible says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4-6). This weapon that is MIGHTY IN GOD is God’s Word.
So when we meditate on and utter God’s Word to Him, He fights for us. We don’t have to fight. Instead, we fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12) by believing that God will uphold His Word and fight for us. “Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15).
Meditate on…
