Jesus was wounded

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed – Isaiah 53:5

God the Father poured out His wrath upon His Son, Jesus, because He carried our sins. We were deserving of punishment for the sins we committed before Him. But God so loved us that He gave His only begotten Son to take our place of punishment. “God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:17) Jesus had no sins yet He carried our sins in His own body and was punished by Father God for them. Jesus took our unrighteousness and gave us His righteousness (right standing before God). Today, when God the Father looks at us, He sees us righteous because His Son gave it to us as a free gift and His blood covers us continually.

The blood of Jesus cries out “Forgiveness!

His act of love has saved us. Our Heavenly Father so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus said, “This is the work of God that you believe in Him Whom He sent.” (John 6:29) God wants us to believe in His Son and also the work on the cross that He did to save us. Jesus said, “If I do not do the works of the Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” (John 10:37-38).

Believe…

  • Jesus was punished by God the Father for all your sins (past, present and future sins – your lifetime of sins.)
  • Jesus took all your sins into His own body, died and rose from the grave without them.
  • Father God is not angry with you, but instead, loves you.
  • You are accepted before the Father because of the work that Jesus did on the cross.
