Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ – Philippians 1:6
Be confident and believe that God who started a good work in you is faithful and trustworthy to complete it. He is not doing a bad work; He is doing a good work filled with His love for you. His plan is to heal you, prosper you, save you “…to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11) In the first chapter of Genesis, God made the heavens and the earth: light, firmament, dry land, seas, grass, herb, fruit trees, sun, moon, stars, sea creatures, birds, cattle, creeping things, beasts and man. “God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31) When God made you, indeed it was very good. God is not out to harm you. Instead, He longs to bless you… “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11) You are precious in His sight and it pleased Him to make a way for you through His son, Jesus Christ. Our God is a good God, a God of peace and hope. He will never do evil to you nor will He cause you to do evil.
Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
James 1:13
Jesus referred to God as good. He said, “…No one is good but One, that is, God.” (Mark 10:18) We see His goodness in the earth. The bible says, “…The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.” (Psalm 33:5)
10 He sends the springs into the valleys;
Psalm 104:10-13
They flow among the hills.
11 They give drink to every beast of the field;
The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 By them the birds of the heavens have their home;
They sing among the branches.
13 He waters the hills from His upper chambers;
The earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,
Psalm 104:14-18
And vegetation for the service of man,
That he may bring forth food from the earth,
15 And wine that makes glad the heart of man,
Oil to make his face shine,
And bread which strengthens man’s heart.
16 The trees of the Lord are full of sap,
The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
17 Where the birds make their nests;
The stork has her home in the fir trees.
18 The high hills are for the wild goats;
The cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers.
19 He appointed the moon for seasons;
Psalm 104:19-23
The sun knows its going down.
20 You make darkness, and it is night,
In which all the beasts of the forest creep about.
21 The young lions roar after their prey,
And seek their food from God.
22 When the sun rises, they gather together
And lie down in their dens.
23 Man goes out to his work
And to his labor until the evening.
This is our God! He is full of goodness. “The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.” (Psalm 145:9) The Psalmist said, “I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works. Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness.” (Psalm 145:5-7) Put your trust in the Lord today. Expect Him to do a good work in you. Let’s focus on the good One! Let’s continue to pray through Jesus Christ, for He makes us hopeful and brings peace.
Our God who loves us so much showed His love for us when “He gave His one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us on the cross so that we will not perish but have everlasting life. He did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17)
Meditate on…
