But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and they told Him about her at once — Mark 1:30
What do you do when you or your love one is sick? Who do you call? Where do you go? Sometimes we fret and worry. Other times we run to the pharmacy for medication. Still other times we call a doctor or run to the hospital emergency room. Naturally, we expect help to come from these sources. And most times we do get the help because God loves us and has given men knowledge about illnesses. There is nothing wrong with going to the doctor because God provided them.
But notice what the disciples did when Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever. They told Jesus about her sickness at once — immediately they told Him! They did not linger but ran to Him. They knew Jesus could and would heal her because they saw Him willingly heal others… And He never asked them about their sins. But instead, He provided for them because His heart was filled with love and compassion toward them.
“And Jesus took her (Simon’s wife’s mother) by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them.”
Mark 1:31
In the evening, after the sun had set, they brought to Jesus all who were sick and demon possessed. And the whole city of Capernaum gathered together at the door of Simon’s and Andrew’s house. And Jesus healed many who were sick of various diseases, and cast out many demons. He was willing to heal anyone who came to Him in faith… believing that He can do it.
Today, Jesus is willing to heal you because He loves you and is compassionate towards you. His abundant supply of healing can never be extinguished and is available to you and your love ones now. So, run to Jesus for your healing. Look to the One Who gave His body to be broken so that your body will not be broken. Trust Him to do it. Now, if you have to go to the doctor, then by all means do so. But tell Jesus about the problem and involve Him in your life. Know that God uses doctors too.
His abundant supply of healing can never be extinguished and is available to you and your love ones.
