I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope – Psalm 130:5
Whatever state you are in today, keep your eyes on Jesus, waiting for Him to do something beautiful in your life. If you need strength today, wait on Him to strengthen you. The bible says, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31) As you wait on the Lord, hope in His word. The bible says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23) If you need healing, wait on the Lord to heal you. Hope and meditate on His word. The bible says, “He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.” (Psalm 107:20)
Jesus Christ, who is full of grace and truth, is our source of help. Today, He sits enthroned at the right hand of God, interceding for us. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) Go before Him and “Ask [Him], and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
When you hope and wait upon the Lord, you are trusting Him to provide all your needs. You are exercising your faith in Him. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) Although you may not see the evidence or answer to your prayer right away, the Lord is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Now, while you wait on the Lord, you may experience turbulence in your life. But the Lord is with you and He will help you.
…For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Hebrews 13:5-6
Don’t give up on the Lord. He will come and save you. Therefore, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23)
Our God who cares for us will come and save us. He showed His love for us when “He gave His one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us on the cross so that we will not perish but have everlasting life. He did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17)
