The bible declares that Jesus Christ is the light of the world. In John 8:12, He said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Jesus is full of life and His life gives us light. The bible says, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4) So when we have His life in us, we become like a light on a lampstand that gives light to all who are in a house. Yes, you will shine brightly and “…the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1:5) Your eyes will be opened and you will see where you are going.
The bible talks about a man who was born blind and how God had done something wonderful for him…
9 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” 6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
John 9:1-7
Jesus did not come to point fingers as to why the man was born blind. He came to give him life! To open his eyes and make him a son of light. This is the work of God – to open the eyes of the blind while it is still day… while there is still time. There are people who can see the world around them but spiritually they are blind and therefore walk in darkness. Our Heavenly Father wants to give us life and open our eyes so that we can see! Let it be said of you, “…blessed are your eyes for they see…” (Matthew 13:16)
