Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’… For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. — Matthew 6:31-32 NKJV
After spending several hours cleaning my yard, I was experiencing significant body pain. The next morning, as soon as I woke up, a thought popped into my mind: “I am in pain.” I found it odd because I hadn’t intended to think that. It felt as if someone had planted that thought in my head. I was tempted to voice it, but I refrained. Despite the use of the pronoun “I,” the thought DID NOT originate from me. It was a thought placed by the devil.
In Matthew 6:31, on a mountain, Jesus taught His disciples not to worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’. When people worry, they often speak out their thoughts, expressing what is on their minds. This act can give the devil power to influence their lives negatively. The devil is the father of lies. The bible says, in John 8:44, “…When he (devil) speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” In John 10:10, “The thief (devil) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” Do not accept his lies by speaking them out, as he wants to steal from you, kill you and destroy you.
When thoughts enter your mind, discern the truth from lies and speak only the truth. Ask the Holy Spirit for discernment and His help to speak the truth. Remember, the Holy Spirit bears witness with the truth, and not lies. When God saw darkness covering the earth, He didn’t say, “It’s so dark!” Instead, He declared, “Let there be light!” and light appeared. The Holy Spirit bore witness to that truth, and light was created.

Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. — Matthew 6:31-32 NKJV
